Wooden Books? (Anniversary)
24th December 2009. Filed under Anji, Celebrations, Family, Husband, Me, This time last year.On Sunday 13th December it was our 5th wedding anniversary, the gifts for which are apparently meant to be wood. However, last year, which should have books, we managed to get muddled and did wood. So this year, instead of wood, we did books. Confused? Never mind
As I was travelling home from London on the actual day, I had bought Billy an organiser book, and on the front page, written that he had an aromatherapy massage booked in with L, the practitioner that gives me massages. As he goes into work slightly later on a Friday, I’d arranged it for the Friday that I left for London, so he had his present early. (And he loved it, as I knew he would. L has magic hands
)
Billy came to Newcastle to meet me from the London train, the plan being that we’d then go out for dinner and get the train home together. As Raji was free at the time, Billy persuaded him to give him a lift to pick me up, so we could put my luggage in the car. We decided that actually, we might as well get a ride back in the car as it was going back home anyway, so Raji dropped us off in town for our meal.
I had been really fancying an Indian dinner as I rarely get to have it (Billy eats it quite often as a late night takeaway, but I just get the smell of them next morning
) I find Indian food filling, especially by the time a couple of side dishes are added, so I don’t usually have a starter – but Billy insisted that I did. Oh dear! I hardly had room for the main course, and for a wonder, neither did Billy! We ended up taking the rest home with us – which Raji ate. It had been nice to have a bit of time together though, and Billy also bought me a couple of books, and mum had given us a lovely (little bit different ) wooden photo frame, and a card that made us laugh, so it was a pleasant ending to the day.
I can’t believe it’s ONLY been 5 years that we’ve been married (though we’ve lived together for 6) – it seems like I’ve always been married to Billy, somehow.
